This privacy notice sets out how The Royal Orthopaedic Charity (ROC) use and protect any information that you give us.

In this notice (ROC) is referred to as “we” or “our” and individuals whose data is processed are referred to as “you” or “your”.

We are committed to ensuring your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain identifiable information, be assured it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

  • Contact details (address, email and/or telephone number)

What we do with the information we gather

  • To understand your needs and provide you with a better service

  • Processing of Gift Aid claims to HMRC
  • With your consent, we may occasionally send emails we believe to be of interest to you

Retention of data

The (ROC) holds your data for the purposes of providing services you have requested, or where there is a legitimate business interest (such as the requirement to keep Gift Aid forms for a period of 6 years).

Where (ROC) identifies no further need to keep your data it will be deleted.


We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

Use of third parties

(ROC) has contracts in place with The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital for the purposes of providing accounting & financial support. Any data shared with these companies is still subject to this privacy notice and the companies have confirmed their compliance with the relevant data protection legislation.

Information gathered through cookies allows us to monitor website traffic and to personalise the content of the site for you
