Support cancer patients this Christmas

Help create a home from home for long-stay cancer patients.

The Royal Orthopaedic Charity (ROC) is working with the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital to transform five individual patient rooms for people receiving treatment for complex bone cancer on Ward 3.

For many of our cancer patients, hospital stays can last for weeks, sometimes months.

Our current Oncology rooms are tired, unloved and far from the comforting spaces that our patients deserve.

    With your help, we can change that.

    We are raising funds to create comfortable, dignified environments, that will support recovery and emotional well-being.

    With your support, we can add the thoughtful touches that the NHS doesn’t fund – from mindful artwork and relaxed colour palettes to adjustable lighting and comfortable furniture — turning clinical spaces into private sanctuaries that feel more like home.

    Why it matters

    “Our courageous Mum Jacquie lost her battle with cancer in September 2023. Mum had surgery at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital as part of her treatment. Mum never made it home, and remained in their care for several weeks. The care and love Mum received from all the staff at ROH was of great comfort to us. In Mum‘s memory instead of flowers at her service, we asked for donations for the family room on Ward 3 at the ROH. This place was a sanctuary for us, where we could go and have a peaceful moment”

      • Rentokil Initial

        Rentokil Initial is delighted to partner with the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham and proud to support the Hospital Glow up Campaign for a number of reasons;

        Our local operational team (Rich Parry, Luke Webb & Andy Yeomans) genuinely appreciate our long standing working relationship and are thrilled to support a local NHS organisation that provides comfort and care for their community, particularly at this festive time.

        Our Key Account Department is delighted to provide support services to the NHS across the entirety of the UK and wish all patients and employees a Merry Christmas! (particularly those that may be in hospital over the holiday period)

        On a personal note, in the past 3 years I have had 2 major operations following a spinal injury. I understand the potentially life changing impact of these injuries and therefore orthopaedic or spinal care resonates personally with me. You have my genuine admiration for the work that you do!

        Great campaign and thanks for inviting Rentokil Initial to support this great cause
