Nightingale F.C: Football With Heart

Bringing People Together, One Match at a Time

Born in Crisis, Built on Community

Nightingale F.C was founded in April 2020, during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a way to unite people through football and raise funds for NHS Charities Together quickly became something much bigger.

Formed by NHS and key workers—including paramedics, teachers, staff from the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, and other key workers —Nightingale F.C represents resilience, unity, and hope on and off the pitch.

Supporting the NHS, One Goal at a Time

During the first 18 months of Nightingale F.C, the football team raised over £20, 000 for miscellaneous charities in collaboration with other teams. In 2021, Nightingale F.C chose to dedicate all their efforts to the Royal Orthopaedic Charity (ROC).

Since then, they’ve raised over £10,000 to fund projects that improve the patient experience at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.

Their community-led fundraising—scratch cards, raffles, match-day events—has brought people together and made giving fun. Players also donate prizes and volunteer their time, helping to create a warm, inclusive atmosphere.

“Nightingale was created by a group of people with a passion and vision to make a difference, and we want to carry on building upon the legacy of our predecessors. We are more than just a squad – we are a symbol of what happens when a community unites with a shared purpose and drive. Every pass, every cheer, every step on the pitch is a reminder that when we come together, we can do more than play – we can make a real difference.”

    Growing Support and Big Impact

With backing from football manager Harry Redknapp and radio DJ Scott Mills, Nightingale F.C has made headlines and built a loyal online following. Their ROC-sponsored kit went viral in 2021, receiving 25,000+ views in just two days, and is now worn by fans around the world.

Looking ahead, the team is partnering with football academies and community groups to expand their impact.

In 2025, six players are already signed up for ROC fundraising events, each one chasing a personal goal for a great cause.
