“I am yet to do any fundraising events – no time like the present! I want to help support the ROH and get fundraising experience. I am happy to get stuck in and take part in events such as running events, attending football matches and more.
I love fitness, I go the gym 6 days a week it is good for me not only physically but mentally, on that note I am also a massive foodie I love going out for food (especially for pastries) and trying new bakeries especially from different countries which leads on me living to travel! I love to travel, so far visited 26 countries with so many more places yet to visit. Travelling has allowed me to experience different surroundings which I believe helps me grow as a person and gives me more confidence.”
Congratulations Georgia for taking part in the Worcester City Run in September 2024 and for surpassing your fundraising target!
“I’ve been working with the ROC team for over a year now and have been involved with many projects to support our young patients in CYPD, including implementing activity packs for a positive distraction and raising a fantastic amount of money during our recent cake sale. I’m passionate about supporting children & young people, having come from an extensive childcare background prior to my role at the ROH. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and going on adventures! I’m also an avid movie fan, with a particular interest in the horror and thriller genres. I’m already planning future projects with the support of the ROC team and look forward to raising more vital funds.”
“I am incredibly excited about the opportunity to become a ROCstar Charity Ambassador. Although I am new to fundraising, I am passionate about making a difference and am eager to put my skills and enthusiasm to meaningful use. I believe that volunteering will allow me to support a cause I care deeply about, and I am committed to contributing positively to the community. I am at a point in my life where I want to broaden my experiences, and I see this role as an invaluable chance to work with an organisation dedicated to making a real impact. While I know that volunteering will be challenging, I look forward to the personal satisfaction that comes with helping others and working alongside people who share this vision.
In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, watching movies and K-dramas, especially those in the thriller, action, and romance genres, as well as reading novels. I’m excited to bring my energy and commitment to this role, eager to support a mission that resonates with me, and ready to grow through new and meaningful experiences.”
“I am thrilled to become a ROCstar Charity Ambassador at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. I’m deeply motivated by the opportunity to work with children and support a great cause, and I see this role as a wonderful chance to challenge myself while making a positive difference. I’ve always had a strong interest in learning about the human body, which has inspired my goal of studying Medicine after Year 13. I believe this position will allow me to gain valuable experience while contributing meaningfully to a charity I’m passionate about.
In addition to my academic interests, I bring a diverse set of skills and hobbies that I believe would enrich my role as a ROCstar. I speak three languages fluently and earned a high grade in GCSE French, which helps me connect with people from different backgrounds. My love for art, basketball, and cooking has taught me patience, creativity, and discipline. Most importantly, I’m a compassionate person who is excited to try something new in support of a meaningful cause. I am eager to begin this journey as a ROCstar and give back to my community.”
“I’ve always had a passion for helping others, which is why I got involved in the prefect team and student council. Organising events like bake sales for our Year 11 prom and fundraisers for Ukraine and Palestine showed me how much I love this kind of work. That’s why I want to be a charity ambassador – I want to give back to the community and support those in need. Plus, it’ll be great experience for my future career in medicine.
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, especially baking, as well as reading and expressing myself through art. I’m particularly interested in research projects, and I’m currently deciding between studying how childhood trauma affects mental health in adulthood or exploring how artificial intelligence can be used to diagnose and treat cancer. Over the past five years, I’ve developed strong skills in listening, communication, leadership, and organisation through my involvement in the student council by leading my year group, being a prefect and serving as a mental health ambassador. These roles have taught me the importance of empathy and understanding, which I’ve carried into my current role in mentoring kids with learning difficulties. These experiences have shaped me into someone who is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of others, and I’m excited about the future possibilities as a charity ambassador.”
“I am Riyan Mahamed and i am 16 years old. I am in Year 12 and I’m studying Biology, Chemistry and Psychology as my dream is to be in the medical field and be a doctor, I have hobbies that reflect my interests and skills as I love studying different subjects which helps me understand the challenges people face. Helping those around me makes me happy and I’m an open person who enjoys connecting with others. My ability to listen and support people is something I take pride in and I believe these qualities will help me succeed as a charity ambassador.
I can’t wait to become a charity ambassador because I really care about helping others and making a difference in my community. My fundraising experience includes participating in the Mater Heart Run in Kenya to raise money for a cardiology charity which was an amazing experience. By taking on this role, I hope to raise awareness about important issues and encourage others to get involved in making positive changes.”
