Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Charity Ambassadors
Phill has worked for ROH since 2020 and has been supportive of the Charity from the get go! Phill has become a great asset to the Charity team acting as a staff correspondent for the Charity sharing events, spreading the word and of course raising funds. Phill has took on many fundraising challenges for ROC raising over thousands for the Charity over the years. From running to zip wire challenges Phill has experienced it all.
We are excited to formally make Phill one of our Charity ambassadors and look forward to working with him throughout the year.
James has a breadth of knowledge in fundraising, events and functions and was essential in organising the successful 2021 Cricket event which brought over 500 spectators. James has worked for ROH for many years in several patient facing roles, his breadth of knowledge about the Trust really shines through into his fundraising. He is a great advocate of supporting patients and raising funds to enable us to do this.
“There have been four generations of my family that have made the journey through the ROH. My grandfather, my mother, myself, and my daughter. The hospital has been a trusted place to come for orthopaedic consultation and surgery and I would not hesitate in recommending the Trust. If it wasn’t for the ROH any of my family could have ended up anywhere with a lesser reputation.”
James has supported the Trust with hundreds of pounds worth of gifts in kind used for raffles, tombola’s and more. The ROC team see James as a member of the family and often run fundraising initiatives by him to see his thoughts.
Nigel has been a patient at ROH for many years and approached ROC back in 2018 to fundraise for us. Nigel went on to raise nearly £4000 by climbing Kilimanjaro and has since been an avid supporter in all things Charity.
“I visited the hospital every year for 20 years, starting from the original treatment and check-ups every year since. I took a lot of comfort that I was receiving care from some of the best doctors / consultants in the country, if not the world.”
Peter engaged with the Trust many years ago after receiving life changing treatment at ROH. Since Peter has gone on to support the Charity in many ways, sharing his patient story being one of them. Despite living over 100 miles away from the Trust, Peter continues to regularly fundraise for ROC and plays an active roll in sharing Charity news and events within his online community.
“I became a fundraiser because I wanted to make a difference while I’m alive, and wanted to raise some money for the hospital so it can continue to be outstanding and give the best possible experience to its patients and their families while under the hospitals care.”
