Children & Young Peoples appeal

Supporting patients aged 0 – 25

For a child or young person, a hospital visit can be a scary experience. With your support, we can create a hospital environment that makes younger patients feel positive and comfortable when they need it most.

Children and young peoples services at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital cares for those aged 0-25 with a variety of complex conditions including spinal deformity and rare cancers. Patients visit for pre or post-surgical, diagnostic or therapeutic care. We help to support The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital (ROH) to provide the best possible experience for patients and families.

With your help, we can go the extra mile and ensure this service goes above and beyond any patients’ expectations.

How your support helps

Reducing anxiety for young patients at ROH

A small but meaningful project undertaken by ROC supporting young patients journey from waiting room to clinic.

College green renovation

The ROH College Green site provides state of the art equipment, a purpose built and spacious physiotherapy gym, and 16 new treatment rooms of which two are dedicated for children and young people.

Supporting young adult rooms across the hospital

Staying in hospital effects people in different ways. Young adult patients are just one of the many groups of individuals we support whilst in hospital. Young adults, patients aged 16 – 24, have the added pressure of transitioning between child and adult NHS services, as well as receiving sometimes life-changing treatment.

Charity funded outpatients renovation

A £15,000 renovation complete with the following:
– Beautiful wall art surrounding the area
– Entertainment units
– A renewed sensory facility
– A new reflection room
and more!

Singing Medicine for young patients

The amazing team that makes up Ex Cathedra were really supportive in building a singing medicine programme which is bespoke to our children & young people’s service.
