Education & Training

Our Knowledge Hub is the home of our research and teaching at ROH. We support advanced training techniques for the medical students to visit ROH each year, as well as provide enhanced training for staff within the organisation, through the Trust’s Knowledge Hub.

Thanks to your generous donations, The new and improved Max Harrison Lecture Theatre along with the Knowledge Hub, was launched in 2020.

The theatre is used throughout the year to host both clinical and non-clinical training for both staff at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and healthcare professionals in training from across the midlands.

It was unveiled in a ‘virtual ceremony’ live on Facebook, where speakers included Chief Executive Jo Williams, alongside consultants and those involved in clinical education.

ROC are always keen to focus funding on staff within the Trust in order to excel the workforce and enhance the level of service and care provided to patients and all who come in contact with the ROH.

Dan is just one of the many individuals who has been supported by this initiative,  for  funding towards an Information Technology Practitioner BSc (Hons) Top Up Degree.

“This was an application with a clear return on investment which we were proud to support” Trustee of The Royal Orthopaedic Charity

Dan attended Coventry University every Saturday for a year to complete the qualification and incorporated modules which enhanced his day job, such as Business Computing and Advanced Information Systems.

Dan is now the proud owner of a first-class honours degree and is using the confidence and knowledge he’s gained through furthering his career to improve the quality and range of services offered by the ROH’s IT department.
