Its #charitytuesday again & we’d like to say a huge #thankyou to all the organisations & fellow #charity‘s who donated gifts to our wards over December. We received over £1300 worth of gifts this year, which is more than we have ever had. Your generosity always surprises us 🌟💌 pic.twitter.com/01zHvUh0W6— ROH Charitable Fund (@FundRoh) January 8, 2019
Giving Tuesday is a day celebrating charities all over the world, and this year we wanted to raise as much awareness as possible about the Throne Project and our charity as possible.
Today we celebrated World Radiographer Day & thanked all the imaging staff at ROH for there amazing work 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
The imaging team were really engaged and were keen to raise money for their service as well as celebrate. They pulled together and managed to pull together an amazing event which engaged both patients and staff within the hospital.
There was a bake sale, tombola, quiz, book sale and much more. You name it they had it and it was all worth it.
They raised an incredible £270 towards imaging services within the trust, which will help toward building better patient experience in the department.
A big well done to the imaging department for leading on this celebration, and achieving a great outcome, we couldn’t have done it without you!!
Thank you to all who visited the stand and donated cakes or raffle prizes to today’s celebration!
On Friday Chief Executive Officer – Paul Athey & Executive Director of Patient Services – Garry Marsh, had a tough job judging this years Christmas Card Competition entry’s.
On Sunday 14th October , 12 of our amazing fundraisers took part in the Birmingham Half Marathon. They successfully completed the course in style, whilst enduring the typical English wet and windy weather.
The Throne Project appeal is a cause that has been driven by passion, and Senior Occupational Therapist Tracey Gilbert has been the major driving force for making this all important change. Tracey has not only drove the project to where we are now, she also completed the event and was a great motivator for everyone else involved.
“I felt so proud to be running for ROH today for a great cause and project whilst achieving such a huge personal achievement and self belief”
We had a mixture of members of the community, staff and patients taking part who all had a personal connection with the appeal in some way. They were all dedicated to making a difference, which drove their fundraising to be a success.
As a team they raised a total of £1930.00 through online donations, and more to come!
This is a huge testament to every single one of our fundraisers commitment to such an important appeal. Because of their impressive efforts, our appeal total is now up to £5500.00, and has funded 2 bathroom refurbishments already.
